Admission to other classes is by the in-year application form, Click here to start the process.

The Head of School welcomes visits from prospective parents. Please contact the office on 0207 352 5740.

Nursery

Applications for the Nursery are made via the school.  The application form can be found here Nursery Application Letter 20-21. Please refer to   Nursery Application full details for enquires 2020-21 for more information.

Admission is in September and January (if there are spaces available). We accept pupils on either a 15 hour per week or 30 hour per week basis, 5 days a week, term-time only.

Ashburnham is well-adapted for access to pupils in wheelchairs, and at the request of the Executive Director of Education, the headteacher will offer places to those pupils as a first priority.

Should the school be oversubscribed the admissions criteria will be applied to give priority to children in the following order:

  • as an over-riding priority, children will be admitted who are in public care to the Royal Borough or who have a statement of special educational needs which names the school
  • to siblings of children already on school roll
  • to children who live nearest to the school
  • in exceptional circumstances, with the agreement of the Executive Director, other students may be admitted to the school on grounds of medical and social need

Admissions for children with a statement or Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP):

The Local Authority will send the school copies of the child’s most recent Statement or EHCP which outlines the child’s needs. School will assess how well we can meet the child’s needs and will inform the local authority if a place is available. We strongly encourage that parents of children with additional needs visit the school and speak with the Special Needs Coordinator if you are thinking of naming us in the statement or EHCP. This will allow us the opportunity to meet and discuss any concerns you have and be an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have.

Admissions for children with additional needs:

If your child has additional needs but no Statement or EHCP please apply via the Local Authority route. We strongly encourage that parents of children with additional needs visit the school and speak with the Special Needs Coordinator if you are thinking of choosing our school. This will allow us the opportunity to meet and discuss any concerns you have and be an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have.
